Designed with the older elementary student in mind, Historical LINCs utilizes children’s literature to make history come to life. Students explore 30 notable characters such as Susan B. Anthony, George Washington and Thomas Edison through written word and vibrant illustrations. In this unique twist to the traditional Language in the Classroom™ (LINC™) program, students use the information gathered from group discussion and the text to recreate the story in written format. Each re-write story contains a series of hand-drawn pictures which illustrate the highlights of the character’s life. These illustrations allow teachers to pursue a variety of curriculum specific avenues from students simply re-sequencing the story to rewriting the story utilizing the pictures as their guide. Historical LINCs is sure to become a favorite amongst educators! Ages: 2nd Grade and Up
