Martha Halter

Martha Searle Halter is a teacher, author, and educational consultant. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Baylor University and her Master of Education in Reading from the University of North Texas. Martha has more than 15 years experience as a teacher and professional speaker.  She has taught all elementary school grade levels and has presented training and workshops to thousands of teachers over her the course of her career, with special emphasis on integrating reading with science and social studies.

Martha’s educational passion is “getting kids actively learning and using outside of the box methods for teaching basic skills and concepts.”  Her work also includes co-authoring the popular “Shake and Learn®” supplemental curriculum series, which combines learning, movement, and music to teach academic objectives and national standards.

Ms. Halter resides in Dallas, Texas with her husband and three children.
