Lorraine Prokopchuk

Lorraine Prokopchuk is classroom teacher, administrator, consultant and coordinator with 30 years of experience. She has most recently acted as the Coordinator of Instruction for the St. James-Assiniboia School Division, Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada.

Lorraine’s progressive and positive leadership in the areas of English Language Arts and instructional strategies is rooted in current educational research and best practice. She pioneered the Formal Induction Program in her Division, coaching and mentoring teachers new to the profession. She has also served as Provincial English Language Arts Specialist with the Manitoba Department of Education and was a member of the development team for the Manitoba Curriculum Frameworks and Foundation for Implementation documents.

Ms. Prokopchuk is currently an independent literacy consultant who enjoys sharing her beliefs and experiences about the importance of professional learning and literacy development with audiences throughout North America.
