Now In: Company | Trainers | Stacy McGahey Benge

Stacy Benge was born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas, a suburb of Dallas.  The youngest of two children, Stacy spent her childhood taking dance and gymnastics and performing in community theater productions.  Some of her fondest memories of growing up in Grand Prairie include living close to all of her family, eating at Bob’s Burgers and Don Juan’s, and attending Grand Prairie Gopher football games.

After graduating from Grand Prairie High School, Stacy attended the University of North Texas where she met her husband, Jason.  They married in 1996 and took a tour of the southeast transferring to Jackson, MS, New Orleans, LA, where their oldest son was born, and Tyler, TX, where their youngest son was born.  In 2004, they relocated back to the Dallas, TX area.

While living in Mississippi, Stacy discovered her love for training.  She was a presenter for a small session for an early childhood conference when the afternoon keynote speaker was late.  Stacy was asked to step in and present part of her session on utilizing dance for gross motor development to fill time.  After getting the crowd of 500 on their feet, clapping and dancing, she decided that speaking was for her!  Over ten years later, Stacy still believes workshops should be fun and interactive and ensures participants will leave enlightened, empowered, and entertained.

While not presenting or writing, Stacy enjoys being with her friends and family.  Being in a house full of boys, she is quite accomplished at Lego building, pillow fort construction, baseball throwing, and battling with Star Wars lightsabers.  Alongside her sons, Stacy is scheduled to test for her black belt in TaeKwonDo this summer.
