College & Career Readiness Starter Kit

Future-Ready Starts Here: The MindWorks College & Career Readiness Starter Kit

We created the MindWorks College & Career Readiness Starter Kit as a simplified framework to help afterschool programs, enrichment providers, and schools integrate CCR in a way that feels natural, age-appropriate, and deeply connected to how students already learn—through hands-on, project-based exploration.

Designed in alignment with widely recognized state and national frameworks, the Starter Kit summarizes and simplifies CCR for OST programs by shifting the focus from checklists to curiosity, identity, and voice. Rather than replicating grade-by-grade standards, we demonstrate how to scaffold conversations, reflections, and activities that empower students to see themselves in future roles—without the need for formal training, rigid scripts, or specialized credentials.

Whether you're a 21st CCLC grantee, a district leader, or a classroom teacher seeking more purpose-driven enrichment, the Starter Kit gives you developmentally appropriate tools to introduce real-world thinking through the lessons you're already teaching.

Afterschool isn’t just extra time—it’s extra opportunity. Our MindWorks CCR Starter Kit helps instructors bring out each student’s voice, strengths, and sense of purpose, all while reinforcing soft skills, academic connections, and future-ready habits.

    ⭐ Grades K–5: Curiosity Meets Real-World Roles

CCR Starter Kit for Elementary gives students vocabulary, reflection prompts, and identity-building tools. In Cornerstone themes like Mayhem at the Museum, those ideas come alive through role-play, hands-on builds, and cross-subject exploration. Kids don’t just talk about being helpers—they become Curators, Engineers, Artists, and more.

With no extra prep required, your team can foster soft skills, encourage student voice, and deepen literacy, math, and science—all through meaningful, real-world learning.

⭐ Grades 6–8: From Projects to Pathways

CCR Starter Kit for Middle School focuses on student identity, teamwork, and career-connected reflection. In Mayhem at the Museum, those foundational elements turn into exhibit design challenges, cryptography puzzles, signage builds, and museum pitch projects—each modeling real-world roles.

Through these hands-on simulations, students see how STEAM, communication, and critical thinking apply beyond the classroom. The result? Confidence, curiosity, and a clearer picture of what’s possible.
